Drishyam 2 Story:
Bollywood does not have an impressive track record when it comes | to making suspense thrillers, more so if it is a sequel. However, unlike many such movies made in the recent past, Drishyam 2 (sequel to Drishyam) does not disappoint. The beauty of Drishyam 2 starring Ajay Devgn, Akshaye Khanna, and Tabu is that the movie despite being guilty of running at a tardy pace for the most part of the run-time still manages to make a lasting impact on the minds of the audience with a gripping last half an hour, which is full of twists and turns. Having said that, there are scenes that aren’t totally convincing. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the movie, which is adapted from the Malayalam thriller of the same name, begins where its prequel ended.
Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgn) and his family are still living with a sense of fear of being caught for the death of Sameer Deshmukh, and are also looked at with suspicion by some in the neighborhood. Vijay is now a movie theatre owner and is planning to make a film. But things begin to turn ominous for the family when an eyewitness deposes before the investigators led by Tarun Ahlawat (Akshaye Khanna). Tarun is sharp and has even planted his officers in disguise to extract information. Former IG Meera, who is also the mother of Sameer, is still hell-bent on proving the Salgaonkar family guilty and plots to send them behind bars. Will Vijay once again be able to save his family against all odds? Or is he going to pay for the crime? Performance-wise, all the lead actors do a great job but Akshaye Khanna, to me, was the best addition to the sequel. It is after his entry that the run of events gathers momentum.
